Home History Working On

This section shows roughing in the engine, tranny and a picture of the installed Fatman Fabs tubular engine mounts.

Getting the chains right so the engine and tranny were somewhat level was a pain in the you-know-what!

Almost set in place.

With some boards under the block and the tranny in about the right place, I centered the block and measured for clearance of the back of the block to where I thought the firewall would be. (Thought is the operative word here, more about that in the Setting the Cab section).

Centered and height of block adjusted using shims.

From the back side.

Actually did some work and didn't take any pictures. But here is a picture after I welded the Fatman tubular supports, painted the frame and re-assembled the IFS. I also cut out part of the center of the transmission mount and re-welded 1/4" plate to properly set the tranny mount.
