Home History Working On

Aug/Sept/Oct 2008 - Started working on the mechanical details (like steering/stopping/shifting gears) and getting close to starting the engine.

Had already figured on using Wilwood Master cylinders (Dual for brakes 7/8" front disks, 1" dia. rear shoes, and 7/8" for Novak clutch cylinder. They are show mounted here. They sit high to clear both the steering column and width of the engine (valve covers mostly).

Another shot from the front. Also installed Fuel Filter on left of firewall.

Pedals inside the truck (AND ABOVE)

The pedals sat high and it was not a comfortable fit. Got to have your heals on the floor and I don't have size 24 feet. I cut apart an old gas tank and welded the rounded ends together to make a raised portion of the floor under the pedals. I kept it at the door frame so the old fat guy could get in.

Another out-of-focus shot! (It was pretty before I dug my heals into it!)

Saved up and got the gas plumbing, wires and looms installed. Running with an old dual-point Accel dist. (I at least known how to set points and I already owned it from 30 years ago)
